Membership

Thank you for your interest in joining NSA Ohio, founded in 1980 and an award-winning chapter of the National Speakers Association. Our mission is to provide professional speakers, trainers and consultants with forums, methods and resources to improve the overall success of their business.

Our membership consists of full-time and part-time speakers, keynote speakers, seminar leaders, corporate trainers, independent trainers, workshop leaders, consultants, authors, and speaker's bureaus. Our membership year is July 1st through June 30th.

NSA Ohio has a Professional Membership program and an Apprentice candidacy program.

How have others benefited?

Membership Types

NSA Ohio has a professional membership program and an apprentice candidacy program.

Professional Membership entitles you to full benefits of the organization including workshops and seminars at member rates and a listing on the NSA Ohio web site www.nsaohio.com. Membership also requires you to join the National Speakers Association (NSA) within thirty days of your NSA Ohio membership. The requirement for joining NSA is proof of a minimum of 20 paid speaking engagements within one year or a minimum of $25,000 annually from speaking engagements.

To sign up for membership, complete the application information on pages 6, 7 and 8 of the downloadable form.

Apprentice Candidacy entitles you to partial benefits including workshops and seminars at member rates, and serving on a committee or task force. An apprentice may not vote, present at NSA Ohio functions, showcase, chair a committee or task force, or use the NSA and/or NSA Ohio logo on printed materials. Apprentices are not listed on the NSA Ohio web site. You can be an apprentice for up to three years, and during this time, you are not required to join the National Speakers Association (NSA). After three years, however, you must join NSA Ohio as a member and also join NSA to continue your affiliation with the organization.

Are You Ready to Join NSA Ohio and NSA?

NSA Ohio and the National Speakers Association (NSA) offer wonderful opportunities for growth for those who are already speaking professionally or are ready to commit to becoming professional speakers, trainers and consultants. Below are key questions you should ask yourself. If you can answer "yes" to the questions below, NSA Ohio and NSA are for you! If not, you may want to take the opportunity to attend our NSA Ohio Seminars as a guest and join when you have developed your business to a point that will allow you to benefit from all we have to offer.

1. Can I abide by NSA Ohio bylaws and the National Speakers Association's Code of Professional Ethics? To see NSA Professional Ethics, click here.
2. Am I eligible for membership in NSA by earning all or a portion of my income from at least twenty (20) separate professional speaking engagements for fee each year, or earn at least $25,000 in speaking income each year?
3. Am I willing to make a commitment to professional improvement by attending NSA Ohio Seminars five (5) times a year and NSA Workshops and Conventions?
4. If I am considering the Apprentice Candidacy, am I willing to commit the time to attend the Sunday Seminars and be able to answer "yes" to the above questions at the end of my three-year Apprentice Program?
